It was shrove tuesday few days ago :) Anyone made any pancake at home? I always think shrove tuesday is another classic example of valentine's day- It has been commercialised by the market. So people buy more flowers; chocolates; flour. but I guess....'Pancake day' is more like a tradition. Still remember 3 years ago, I was an alevel student at Monkton, making pancakes with clarendon girls at my houseparent's kitchen. Although I don't know there is such thing as pancake day before I came to England five years ago, it has become like something that 'must-do' once every year.
By the way, I can feel summer is coming to town. So excited! Can't wait to the day when I am wearing my graduation robe and hat. It is the day I have been looking forward to. Recently, I have heard some people around saying there is no point attending the ceremony- I strongly disagree with this. Because for me, ceremony is a RITUAL or TRADITION that you will go through to PROVE YOUR ABILITY TO COMPLETE AN UNIVERSITY LEVEL DEGREE. It is a compliment and a honor witnessed by your lovely families and friends. Especially to yourself- three years of hardwork won't go into waste. I bet I will cry that day...ha. I despise those who think they are intelligent and aren't willing to put any effort/ responsibility on their work. So...maybe this is why they think ceremony isn't necessary, because there is nothing on them worth celebrating.
